About the Vanguard Transition Center
-
The Vanguard Transition Center (VTC) offers post-secondary education support, career preparation, community-based vocational training and social and daily living skills development to young adults, 18–21 years of age. The VTC offers all students evidence-based instruction in math, language arts, daily living skills, current events, healthy lifestyles and social development. Students also participate in counseling, self-advocacy training and recreational activities.
The Vanguard School’s Community-Based Vocational Training (CBVT) program expands vocational learning experiences beyond traditional school settings to community-based business sites. Through a number of business partnerships, the program provides students with opportunities for career exploration and skill development in real-world settings. A Vanguard School job coach supervises and transports students to business sites during school hours.
