Mrs. Judy Fenerty, M.Ed.

I joined The Vanguard School team in November, 2019 as the Middle School STRIVE teacher. I began my career in the world of Autism as the parent of 2 children with ASD. Following in the footsteps of the gifted individuals who worked in my son’s home-based ABA-DTT program, I began working as an ABA/DTT therapist in the home and school programs of young children with Autism. This path led me to earn my Master’s Degree in Special Education and teaching certification. My previous teaching experiences also include the role of Head of Career Education at The Pathway School, Social Studies/History teacher in an Emotional Support setting for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, and autistic support/Verbal Behavior program teacher at Green Tree School and Services. I have also written from first-person experience for the transition-focused website, Autism After 16 (www.autismafter16.com/users/judith-colihan).  In my free time, I enjoy running, antiquing with my husband and spending time with my children  (of both the human and feline variety!).
