Hello and welcome to my webpage. I am one of the many Speech-Language Pathologists at The Vanguard School. I have had the pleasure of working at The Vanguard School since 2017 and currently work in the Elementary School. I can't express how proud I am to be a part of this wonderful community of hard working students, supportive parents, and passionate teachers and staff.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology, and Psychology from Towson University and my Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Towson University. I have been working in the speech and language field for +15 years. I have a broad range of experience from working with both adults and children. I have spent many years providing speech therapy to the adult population in a skilled nursing facility and enjoyed every moment, but wanted to get back to my passion, which is working with children. I spent many years working as an Independent Contractor SLP within the Lancaster Area School District and the Downingtown Area School District, as well as private practice. My experience includes targeting therapy in pragmatic/social language, articulation and motor speech, receptive and expressive language, semantics and vocabulary, AAC systems, Verbal Behavior and ABA techniques. I have gained experience with elementary age children with autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, other health impairments, emotional disturbances, and varying levels of speech and language impairments. I am a certified member of the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I also hold my Instructional Level 1 Teachers Certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, traveling, skiing, spending time at the beach, and coaching my daughter in travel softball.
I am very passionate about communication and how it can change the lives of my students. I believe that communication is the key to connecting us as humans. I look forward to working with all of you this school year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
