Vanguard School Calendar Changes Due to Unused Snow Days
The calendar for the remainder of the school year has been updated as follows:
Valley Forge Educational Services (VFES) offers a wide variety of educational services focused on guiding children and young adults to independence. VFES provides school and summer programs, transition skills programming and clinical-consultation services for children and young adults, 4-21 years of age, with special needs and learning challenges. Through its programs—The Luma Center, Summer Matters, The Vanguard School and Vanguard Transition Center—VFES offers direct services to young people as well as professional development and support to families, schools and community organizations. For more than 50 years, VFES has been dedicated to improving special education through innovative programs and research-based practices.
The Vanguard School is an Approved Private School providing programs for and licensed to accept students, 4-21 years of age, with a Pennsylvania Department of Special Education exceptionality of autism, speech-language disorders, emotional disturbance and/or other health impairment (OHI).

|Summer Matters offers educational and recreational programming for young people, 5-21 years of age, with learning challenges and special needs. Programs include Summer Voyagers, Summer L.I.F.E., two ESY programs and respite programs, all of which build on campers’ interests to help them succeed, learn and grow.|
The Luma Center is home to StarPoint and StarPoint 2, The Vanguard School's Pre-K/K and K/1 classrooms, which support student's academic and therapeutic needs. Classes are taught by a certified special education teacher with integrated support from and collaboration with speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists.
The Vanguard School presented the graduating class of 2016 during the annual Commencement Ceremony, Thursday, June 9. Families, friends and staff gathered to celebrate the 31 graduates at the Valley Forge Educational Services Activities Center.
Thanks to the generous donation of the SNAVE Foundation, Flame the Band performed for Vanguard School Students as part of Valley Forge Educational Service’s Artist-In-Residence program Thursday, April 22 and Friday, April 23.
