VFES Hosts Eleventh Annual Community Day:

Thank you to all who joined our Community Day event on April 27. Roughly 500 guests attended the free, sensory-friendly event on the VFES campus. Highlights of the day included magic shows, a petting zoo, balloon twisting, face painting, s’mores, giant board games, Bingo, a plant sale with plants and herbs grown by our very own students, and our highly-anticipated basket raffle.

Through sponsorships and ticket sales, over $30,000 was raised, ensuring vibrant future Community Days!

VFES extends a heartfelt thank you to The Charter Foundation, long-term partners and funders whose six grants since 2014 have supported VFES and its programs. We were recently awarded a $10,000 grant benefiting Customized Workforce Solutions (CWS). We are so proud to share that contributions to CWS such as this one have helped expand our footprint, having 73 participants enrolled in the program and consultations held with an additional 52.

CWS focuses on person-centered support and training to help jobseekers attain their employment goals and maintains mutually beneficial employment relationships between employers and employers. We are heartened that The Charter Foundation values this work and champions our vision so highly, and has long been an outstanding partner in the community.
