VFES Neurodiverse Resource Fair & Camp Expo
Nearly 150 people attended VFES' Neurodiverse Resource Fair & Camp Expo last Saturday afternoon to visit with 40 special needs programs and services – all in one place.
VFES opened its doors to a diverse group of wonderful exhibitors - overnight camps, ESY programs, healthcare services, therapeutic programs, fitness services, financial services, and special needs advocates from throughout the region. Included among vendors were a dozen first-time exhibitors.
Late in 2023, a decision was made to combine the Adult Services & Transition Resource Fair, which was traditionally held in October of each year with the Special Kids Camp Expo, which was traditionally held in January of each year. The change proved to be a success. Exhibitors appreciated the chance to network with other organizations also serving the neurodiverse community, and fair attendees had a larger, more diversified group of resources to explore. Families also expressed appreciation for the weekend event.
We wish to thank our attendees, vendors and volunteers for venturing out in the cold, snowy weather and dedicating precious weekend hours, energy and resources to make the fair a success. We were proud to serve and provide important information about resources to our VFES & Vanguard families, and many other families in the community!
