June Development Update

Click here to view the June 2024 VFES Newsletter

This year has been one of tremendous growth and real promise for VFES, thanks in large part to our network of incredible partners – families, donors, and businesses.

On June 6th, 19 excited Vanguard students walked proudly to receive their hard-earned diploma. On June 26th our Customized Workforce Solutions (CWS) participants gathered to celebrate their success in securing and maintaining employment in their communities. Significant growth came as new business partners joined our Community-Based Vocational Training, CWS, and Vocational Immersion Program. Finally, we were thrilled to welcome our new Executive Director, Tom Quinn, on June 12th. Tom brings a wealth of experience in disability services, as well as a personal commitment to ensure our community is provided every opportunity to reach its full potential.

At such a momentous time, your support is more vital than ever. We ask you to join us in helping build on this promise for our very dynamic community. Your donation by June 30th enables so much of what we offer for the many children and adults we serve.

WSFS Bank Volunteering for Their Second Annual “We Stand for Service Day”

Thank you to WSFS and the WSFS Cares Foundation for partnering with VFES during WSFS’ Second Annual “We Stand For Service Day” on June 12. Five members of the WSFS Devon branch came to VFES to beautify campus by weeding and mulching. Across PA, NJ, and DE, nearly 1,500 WSFS Associates volunteered at more than 130 nonprofits in support of this event.

“Our commitment to service goes beyond banking. Through initiatives like We Stand for Service Day, we aim to make a tangible and positive impact in the communities we proudly call home,” said Vernita Dorsey, Senior Vice President, Director of Community Strategy at WSFS.

Both WSFS and the WSFS Cares Foundation have been strong partners and supporters of VFES and of our Customized Workforce Solutions program for years. We could not be more grateful. Thank you to Joseph Orsatti and his team at WSFS Devon for a tremendously fun afternoon that helped VFES shine.
