Help VFES and The Vanguard School Navigate through the Pandemic and Beyond
A Message from VFES Executive Director, Dr. Grace Fornicola
In March 2020, the health and safety concerns associated with the pandemic forced VFES and The Vanguard School to creatively re-think the delivery of our educational and clinical services offerings. Bringing our students and staff safely back to campus is requiring significant planning and financial investments. For example, our plan to optimize outdoor instruction recommended by public health guidelines resulted in purchases of large outdoor tents, picnic tables and outdoor seating. We continue to purchase laptops for all families who do not have one for their child since virtual instruction will continue one day a week, and five days a week for students selecting full-time virtual learning. We also need significant quantities of personal protective gear for the entire school year. All of these new costs are significant, unbudgeted purchases. We are counting on the charitable support of our friends in the community to assist us through this crisis.
