Vanguard teacher Sarah Sobeck was awarded the School’s 2012 Excellence in Education Award June 12 at the Staff Appreciation Luncheon. Sobeck, who has worked at Vanguard for 10 years, was nominated by her colleagues for her calm, thoughtful professionalism, her exceptional work ethic, her positive influence on students, and the atmosphere of acceptance and trust she creates in her classroom.
Sobeck spent five years as an instructional assistant at Vanguard as while earning her special education teaching certification. She taught in the middle school and currently teaches in the Lower School, where she is Lower School Science Coordinator. This summer will be her third serving as Lower School Coordinator for ESY at The Vanguard School.
